Day1: Arrival at Pakyong Airport- sightseeing in Ravangla-Transfer to Gangtok-

On your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from your travel agency. As Sikkim car booking will be done by your agency, you need not worry about the transfer from one place to the other. After meeting and greetings, you will be transferred from Pakyong Airport to Ravangla; a major sightseeing destination in Sikkim.

You will be driven to Buddha Park through enchanting beautiful and tall pine forests. The major feature of Buddha Park is the place itself, immersed in tranquility and peace, and the 130 feet tall statue of Buddha with 3 kg gold plated face, it is one of the tallest Statues of Buddha in the world. It is also one of the major Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Sikkim that is immersed in natural allure. The average distance and time needed from Pakyong Airport to Ravangla- 66 km (2hour 40minutes drive).

After spending an hour or so, you can grab a bite or a drink, and then you will be transferred to Gangtok on the same car that brought you. The driving distance between Ravangla to Gangtok, the capital city is 68 km (2hour 30 minutes).

You will treat your eyes with the stunning vistas of Himalayan ranges, beautiful landscapes, etc. You will be straightway driven to your hotel booked by your travel operator. You can freshen up and after the refreshment you can explore Gangtok MG Marg to shop, dine, and involve in Gangtok Nightlife.

After returning to the hotel, you will be briefed about your next day tour. Dinner is served at the hotel- Rest. Note that the city sleeps early, by 9:00 pm/ 10:00 pm.

Day2: Sightseeing- Yuksom- Pelling- Gangtok-

After early morning breakfast at the hotel, you will start your journey to Yuksom, which is (123.5 km) 4hour 38 minutes drive from Gangtok. Yuksom is historically significant as it is the ancient capital of Sikkim. It is also famous as the base camp for the Sikkim’s major adventure treks like Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek, Goechala Trek, Sandakphu-Singalila-Phalut Trek, etc. Yuksom is famous for its rustic charm, and it has treasured Sikkim’s oldest Monastery (Dubdi Monastery), sacred lake (Khecheoplari Lake), UNESCO World Heritage Site (Kanchenjunga National Park), Pemayangtse Monastery, etc.

After spending for about few hours in Yuksom, you will be transferred to Pelling- 40km (1 hour 40minutes) drive from Yuksom. Pelling is another historically significant place. Major attractions in Pelling are- Singshore Bridge (highest suspension Bridge in Sikkim), Sangachoeling Monastery, Kanchenjunga Falls, Rabdentse Ruins, etc.

You can always stop anywhere to grab a bite and for landscape photography.  Once you’ve explored all, your car will drive you to Hotel in Gangtok driving distance is 117 km (4 hours 24 minutes). On the way, you will get to enjoy enrapturing vistas that will leave you to spellbound.

Day3: Sightseeing in Nathula- Tsomgo Lake- Kupup-Baba Mandir-

Note: Foreign tourists are not allowed to visit Nathula, as it an International border shared by India and China. Indian travelers have to obtain a valid Protected Area Permit (PAP) from the Government authorized travel agencies in Sikkim.  You need a photocopy of your ID proof and passport size photos which you should handover to your travel operator for getting your permits done (a day before your tour).

We recommend you to start early. So after early morning breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel. Despite the huge number of vehicles, it is not easy to rent a car in Sikkim, as they will be pre-booked. So, your tour operator will arrange everything including the car hire in Sikkim.

The distance between Gangtok to Nathula is (56km) 1-hour 50minute drive. Nathu is historically significant, as it is the off-shoot of historical silk route. Your journey comprises of driving on the highest motorable passes, and the through the enchanting and unexploited alpine vegetation.  On the way, you will also see lakes mysteriously formed amid the steep mountains.

Once you reach the border, you can enjoy the view of Chumbi Valley in Tibet. During winter the Nathula region remains covered in snow. You can grab a coffee and snacks in the military canteen nearby. No other restaurants are available.

After an hour or so, your cab will take you to Tsomgo Lake (also called Changu Lake by locals), located at a distance of 16.6km (45minutes drive). Tsomgo Lake is considered sacred and there are other gaiety activities like Yak-Safari, eateries, etc.

After spending few hours you will drive to Baba Mandir- a temple established by Indian army for commemorating the missing soldier.  But not without stopping at Kupup- the enroute to Gangtok and Baba Mandir- a place to shop for souvenirs, dine, and to see the Elephant Lake. It is also known for a highest altitude golf course in the country.

The total distance between Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir is 16km (45 minutes drive). Get fascinated by nature’s allure as you drive to the spot. The mystery of the missing soldier is yet to be solved. It is a great place for significance for the India Army and is regarded as holy. The prayers and wishes are believed to be fulfilled.  After few hours you will be again transferred to Gangtok.  The time and distance between Baba Mandir to Gangtok is 1 hour 47 minutes (56km).

Day4: Departure- sightseeing around Gangtok- transfer to Pakyong Airport-

Early morning breakfast-but, you will not depart unless you see the enchanting recreational Park and a 50 m Banjhakri Falls, Rumtek Monastery for Tibetan Buddhism Institution, and MG Marg (if you’d love to shop).  Once you’re done with the sightseeing you will be transferred to Pakyong Airport. Gangtok to Pakyong distance is 31.7 km (1 hour 30 minutes drive).
